Energy mapping with IndLast + DAZOQ – more accurate, less hassle

When Hörle Wire needed to conduct a legally required energy mapping, DAZOQ contacted IndLast – an experienced partner with a deep understanding of the industry's energy needs and improvement potential.

Since Hörle Wire already used the energy monitoring system DAZOQ Energy Intelligence (EI), could IndLast directly work with existing and detailed measurement data from many of the most important machines. This reduced the need for temporary measurements – and made the analysis both faster and more accurate.

MORE ACCURATE CALCULATIONS AND GREATER VALUE

Instead of relying on measurements over a limited week, IndLast was able to work with historical data over several months/years. This gave a clear picture of real energy flows in production – and made it possible to:

·        Understand variations between shifts, days and seasons

·        Identify areas for improvement with high precision

·        Calculate savings based on actual operations, not estimates

FEWER SITE VISITS - AND BETTER ANALYSIS

Traditional energy surveys typically use a limited number of portable sensors that must be moved between different machines and processes to cover the entire operation. This means multiple site visits and, in the worst case, fragmented data, with different parts of the production being measured at different times.

In this case, IndLast was able to use existing measurement data from DAZOQ EI for the majority of the facility, reducing the need for temporary measurements and minimizing the number of site visits.

In addition, the analysis was based on data from the same time period, which provided completely different opportunities to identify connections and energy patterns between different machines – something that is difficult to do when data is collected at different times.

DISCOVERED ENERGY WASTE OF 300,000 kWh THAT COULD HAVE PASSED UNNOTICED

After the energy survey was completed, a compressor malfunctioned and did not start correctly after a production stop. Instead of being off, it was in standby mode and was consuming around 15 kW unnecessarily – equivalent to over 81 000 kWh per year

Without DAZOQ EI in place, the problem would likely not have been discovered until much later – perhaps not until the next mapping four (or more) years in the future, and then more than 300 000 kWhBecause DAZOQ's meters were still in place and monitored consumption in real time, IndLast was still able to identify the problem and include it in the energy mapping, so that it could be addressed.

FUTURE MAPPING - FASTER AND CHEAPER

Because IndLast now has good knowledge of the industry's processes, and access to real-time data from DAZOQ EI, future energy surveys can:

·        Require fewer site visits

·        Be implemented faster and more cost-effectively

·        Provide deeper insights and even more valuable results
