DAZOQ launches new air quality sensors for CO2, VOC and particle measurement
DAZOQ already offers temperature and humidity meters to ensure that production is energy efficient in terms of temperature and that humidity does not have a negative effect on the material. The new air quality sensors also collect temperature and humidity data but also include measurement of CO2, particulate matter and VOC (volatile organic compounds). This is an important milestone for both energy efficiency, sustainability, and health as the information can provide the decision-making basis required to optimize processes, streamline ventilation and improve the work environment.
It is certainly possible to make energy efficiency and improve the air quality in the premises of the business by making changes to the ventilation system, but without energy and air quality data it is difficult to find the right balance. Using the combination of energy and air quality sensors, ventilation can be adjusted as needed and energy consumption can be reduced, while ensuring a healthy indoor environment.
VOC measurement can also identify sources of air pollution, which can lead to measures to reduce them. For example, the discovery of high VOC levels from certain types of materials or cleaning products can lead to decisions to replace these with more environmentally friendly alternatives, which in turn can reduce the need for ventilation and thus further reduce energy consumption.
Two common measures of particulates available are PM2.5 and PM10, but our new meters also include PM1 and PM4. Put simply, these measurements give the mass of particles in the air that are smaller than 1, 2.5, 4, and 10 micrometers (µm) in diameter, respectively. When these particles are inhaled, they can enter the respiratory system and cause negative health effects both in the short and long term. By keeping track of the particle levels in the business, you can ensure that the levels are healthy and that the ventilation is well adapted and energy efficient in relation to the conditions of the business.
In conclusion, the air quality meter can not only benefit health and well-being by improving air quality, but also promote energy efficiency through optimization of ventilation systems.
